This policy describes the personal information collected through WilliamLeroy.org (the “site”), which is operated by William Leroy. It covers only what the site actually does today.
Information we collect
When you create an account
- Your first and last name, email address and (optional) mobile number.
- Your password, which we never store in readable form. Only a secure one-way hash is kept.
- The pathway you are interested in (Advocate or Strategic Partner), and your member status.
- The dates and versions of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted, and whether you chose to receive marketing messages.
- Account activity such as when your email was verified and when you last signed in.
When you use the contact form
- Your name, email address, optional phone number, reason for inquiry and message.
Automatically
- An essential session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. It is removed when you close your browser or sign out.
- To limit abuse, we record failed sign-in attempts and form submissions using a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address or email address, not the raw value. These records are deleted automatically after a short period.
- Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, pages requested and browser type) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and provide the member area.
- To reply to your messages and inquiries.
- To send account emails, such as email confirmation and password resets.
- To review requests for Strategic Partnership and contact you about next steps.
- To send marketing messages only if you opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time in your account settings or by contacting us.
- To protect the site against fraud, abuse and security threats.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who receives information
- Our hosting and email service providers, who process data on our behalf so the site and its emails work.
- Google Fonts. Your browser requests fonts from Google when a page loads, which shares your IP address with Google.
- Authorities or advisers, where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Security
We use measures such as encrypted connections, hashed passwords, protected sessions and limits on sign-in attempts. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention
We keep account information while your account is active and as needed for the purposes above. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to respond and keep records. You may ask us to delete your account or messages at any time.
Your choices
- You can update your name, phone number and marketing preference in your member account.
- You can ask to access, correct or delete your information by emailing william@williamleroy.org.
- You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The site’s sign-in features need the essential session cookie to work.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
